NCCK CENTENARY CELEBRATION!

Today we lit 100 Candles to celebrated National Council of Churches in Kenya (NCCK) 100 years.The Celebration was led by Bishop Bakari Kea.Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya ( ELCK ) is a Member of NCCK.Ebenezar this far the LORD has brought.....1 Sam 7:12.Cutting of the Cake cupped it!

Join us in prayers for Peace during the coming Elections in Kenya.As we all remember our Congregation Springs of Life Lutheran Church - Kibera were burnt and looted during the post election violence in 2008.

Consecration and Installation of Bishop Bakari Kea

The Consecration and Installation of Rev. Bakari Kea as the Bishop of ELCK Central Diocese started by a PEACE Procession from the District Commissioner`s offices to Springs of Life Lutheran Church in Kibera.The Occasion was presided over by the Arch Bishop Dr.Walter Obare and other Bishops from ELCK Dioceses i.e. Bishop Lopeta and Bishop Samson Lokepuna both from North West Diocese, Bishop Dr.Joseph Ochola of Lake Diocese and Rev.Joseph Omwoyo - Bishop Elect South West Diocese. The ELCK General Secretary Rev.John Hallake and Treasurer were in attendance. Also present were Mission Partners from SLEAF, LEAF NLM and LCMS, all Pastors, Evangelists, Deaconesses from Central Diocese and the Diocesan Council.

Rev.Bakari Kea: The pastor in charge

After Pastor Dennis left in December 2010,we were blessed to recieve Pastor Bakari Kea from Mombasa.He was installed as the Pastor in charge of Springs of Life Lutheran Church - Kibera and the Nairobi Parish Leader by Arch Bishop Walter Obare on 26th June 2011.
The immediate challenge for the Pastor is to reconcile the congregation and the rebuilding of the Sanctuary after the burning and looting during the post election violence in 2008.
Lets pray and support Pastor Bakari to meet these challenges and to reach the Kibera Slum community with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
